Blue Monkey Fest

The Blue Monkey Fest was the result of the connected efforts of six bands linked with one of Prague's rehearsal studios. With a goal of increasing our exposure online and winning over new fans offline, we set out to organise a day of guitar-related entertainment starting at 15:00 and going a couple minutes past 22:00 (whoops!). Apart from performing with one of my projects, I took care of branding and producing the event.

The name of the event and the leading theme was inspired by the venue's name - Prauge's legendary punk spot, ModrĂ¡ Vopice, whose branding was also included in the festival's identity. The colour palette aims for high contrast and readability in print. The final key visual was voted out of four initial drafts by the members of the performing bands themselves. In order for our event to gain momentum, each band was involved in the marketing effort after receiving their own, customised social media materials that included various formats for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

As a souvenir, each band was richer by one post-produced video to use to promote themselves as they see fit after the show. We managed to reach over 8k people organically, which turned into over 100 guests in attendance and more cash in the ticket box than needed to get a return on our investment. My band noticed five times the usual amount of monthly listeners on our Spotify profile. It was bananas.
